My work at Meira...

I work closely with the advisory team in all matters relating to financial planning, portfolio management, and supporting the development of our in-depth planning expertise. I love to learn, and feel I am a perpetual student and want to share my knowledge while helping people. I am a strategic thinker and enjoy doing research. I enjoy developing long-lasting relationships with my clients and helping them live their life fully.

… and beyond.

My education has been a priority, achieving my Masters in Management Practice from Colorado State University, plus a Master’s of Science in Zoology. I am a career changer. For several years, I worked in genetics labs doing research from Tuberculosis drug development to the genetics of the malting process. I also ran a small dog training business before deciding to go back to school to obtain more business and financial planning knowledge. I have been working in the financial planning industry since 2013.

Volunteering and giving back to the community have been important to me. I am a board member of the Financial Planning Association of Miami Dade. I am currently the Chair of Nexgen & FIU Student Chapter Liaison. I enjoy giving back to the profession and helping others on their path to becoming a CFP®. This year, I have volunteered with Miami Catalyst and prepared tax returns for people in need. I have a retired, energetic Australian Shepherd that has competed in AKC obedience dog shows. I enjoy traveling, dancing, paddle boarding, Pilates, and scuba diving during my time out of the office.

Estate Planning From the Heart
I believe that life is about living well and dying well. Have you heard about the Conversation Project? I hadn’t until just recently when one of my favorite newspaper columnists, Ellen Goodman, resurfaced in a Google search about end-of-life issues. Many of you—in my age range—may be very familiar with Ellen, a Boston Globe and Pulitzer Prize winner whose columns chronicled social change and its impact on American life.

Tips for Aging in Place
For those not familiar with the phrase “aging in place,” simply put, it refers to choosing to stay in your home with family, friends, and neighbors around you as you grow older (instead of moving to a residential facility designed to support long-term care, such as an assisted-living facility)

Financial Wellness
You may have heard the term Financial Wellness tossed around on the web over the past few years—especially since the onset of the pandemic. I have always believed in this concept and am happy to hear it has gained a lot of traction—if one doesn’t feel financially well it can lead to all sorts of stresses and impact one’s mental health.
